Mackwoods is a historical tea factory covering over 27,000 acres of tea and rubber plantations & It offers many employment opportunities to the People who are around Nuwara Eliya.It was originally founded by Captain William Mackwood in 1841 during the inception of tea estates in Sri Lanka and is the second oldest mercantile firm of the country. The company remained with the Mackwoods family until 1956, when it was passed on to Mr. N.S.O. Mendis, a visionary Sri Lankan entrepreneur.

HAKGALA MOUNTAIN
Hakgala Mountain is situated in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka at 2,169 m above mean sea level, most parts of the mountain are covered with forest belonging to Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve

Pidurutalagala, or Mount Pedro in English, is an ultra prominent peak, and the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka, at 2,524 m.
