Diablo II Lord of Destruction was primarily a solo farming game for me when it was released 20 years ago. Many people, I'm sure, would prefer to hunt down Mephisto or Baal on their own, rather than frantically clicking the feet of bosses in large-scale public games. When a boss dies, the rush to collect loot is similar to the frenzy that occurs in big box stores during Black Friday sales. If you're not familiar with Black Friday Sales, it's basically a day in North America where mediocre sales are hyped to the maximum extent possible, resulting in shoppers literally fighting each other to get their hands on whatever they want to purchase. A group of piranhas feasting on a piece of meat brings to mind this image.
However, you would occasionally join a public game for the camaraderie, PvPing, defeating a boss that you found difficult, or trading with other players. However, when you enter the lobby, you may notice some rooms with names that you don't recognize and can't for the life of you figure out what they are for. This guide is intended to assist you in your endeavors.
The Importance of Diablo II's Linguistic Diversity
You may not give it much thought, but being familiar with the "lingo" of Diablo II Resurrection will aid you in communicating your intentions and goals to other players. Creating games in a timely manner will assist you in achieving your goals and obtaining the equipment that you desire faster.
Here are a few examples of common game names and/or abbreviations that you may encounter. It will be beneficial if you keep the following in mind:
Duel Me, PvP – These are referred to as the "fight rooms" by many players. These rooms are intended to gather players in order for them to engage in combat with one another. This allows you to put your gear through its paces and see how it compares to the builds of other players in the game. Having an entire section of your stash dedicated to collecting the "ears" of well-known PvP'ers to show off your collection was a cool way to show off your collection back in the day.
BRG ME ITEM NAME HERE – This is a game creation method that allows the game creator to specify exactly which item he or she would like to trade. Bring is abbreviated as BRG in this case. These types of games tend to crop up more frequently in Hell, as players on lower difficulties are more concerned with completing content rather than leveling up their characters. For example, "BRG ME VEX" is an abbreviation for "Bring me Vex Rune."
When the word "SCRIPT" appears in a game title, it refers to the "description."The description section of a game allows you to include a few more characters than the title section, which is advantageous when creating a game. If you have a list of cheap D2R ladder items that you'd like to trade in exchange for another item, this feature will come in handy. Using the above example, "SCRIPT 4 SOJ" would mean "Read the description, where I have a list of items I'd like to trade for your SOJ."
SOJ is an abbreviation for Stone of Jordan. An infamous currency ring from the golden age of banking. This is a one-of-a-kind ring that almost all players in the game are attempting to obtain. Very useful for construction or as a form of currency.
ITEM NAME HERE FT – This game informs the player that the game's creator has a specific item "for trade" in his inventory. It is also known by the abbreviation 4T. For example, "SHAKO FT" would mean "I have a Harlequin Crest Shako available for trade."
INSERT THE NAME OF THE ITELE CONTENT HERE –The first part of the game's name is an abbreviation for "I Teleport."The second section will make reference to a farming location or a specific boss in the game. In other words, the room creator has the ability to teleport to a destination quickly, allowing the entire group of people to get to the content together faster. To give an example, "ITELE BAAL" means "I will teleport to the Throne of Destruction and open a portal there so that everyone can come and kill him together."
RUSH FOR 4GE – The term "rush" refers to the act of a much stronger player quickly blowing through main quests and bosses, from Normal to Hell Difficulty Act 4, for the benefit of a newer player who is not as experienced. Typically, the payment for rushing another player is the forfeiture of the right to loot the Hellforge quest in Act 4 that the newer "rushed" player completed.
As a side note, this is my preferred method of generating income in Diablo II Resurrection. I even managed to get two Ist runes in one day from a total of five rushes that took me approximately an hour. It's possible to trade in your Hellforge quest rewards for a quick run through the game if you don't feel like grinding through the whole thing.
A room where a group of players is dedicated to repeating the same content over and over again is denoted by the naming convention CONTENT NAME HERE RUNS QUANTITY (CONTENT NAME HERE RUNS QUANTITY). You should look for these types of games if you want to clear content such as a boss or a farm that is difficult to reach in solo mode.
As a Blizzard Sorceress, I can tell you that it is extremely difficult to run Chaos Sanctuary (where there are many monsters that are Immune to Cold Attacks) until you are well-equipped with high-quality items."Chaos Run 01" means, for example, "We are re-running Act 4 Chaos Sanctuary over and over again, and this is our first RUN."Once the run is complete (when Diablo is defeated), the "host" of the game will type "NG" or "02" to indicate completion. NG stands for Next Game, and I am preparing for another "RUN."The name of the game will then be changed to "Chaos Run 02," and so on and so forth until you become exhausted and decide to leave the group.
How to Make Use of This Terminology
So, now that you've gathered all of this information, you'll be looking for some pointers on how to make the most of it. When I come across mediocre D2R ladder items such as Magefist or Goldwrap, it's difficult to decide whether or not I should keep them. This is especially true given the possibility that you already have these D2R ladder items store. What I would do is create a room called "SCRIPT4LEM" and write "MGFIST (Magefist) GLDWRP (Goldwrap)" in the description of the room.
Due to the fact that Lem is not a particularly "high" rune, many players who wish to quickly level up will opt to trade cheap Diablo 2 resurrected ladder items for these runes. You will be able to convert 8 slots in your stash into an item stack that will take up only 1 slot. In order to create Pul Rune, collect all of the Lems and roll them in your Horadric Cube. Um Runes are formed by joining together two Pul Runes. With Um Runes in your possession, you will now have the currency necessary to purchase some decent one-of-a-kind items, such as the Skin of the Vipermagi.
